Simply Southern TV's film crew visited North Alabama in January to learn more about downtown Athens and current Athens Main Street initiatives, including revitalizing the Farmers Market lot and pavilion. During the visit, Simply Southern TV met with business owners, including Derrick Young, U.G. White Mercantile, David Bennett, Bennett's Clothing, and part owner and lead chef Kristen Caroselli, Salty Cod. Additionally, they had the opportunity to meet with Michelle Williamson, an Athens Main Street Board member, and Kat Green, the Athens Farmers Market manager. Hear what they all had to say about the Main Street program and the changes happening in the district.
