What's next for Wetumpka after HGTV show?

WETUMPKA, Ala. (WSFA) - Production has largely wrapped up on HGTV's 'Home Town Takeover' show in Wetumpka. The show's hosts, Erin and Ben Napier, are gone, but not hopes of what's coming once the show airs. Wetumpka has its casino but Jenny Stubbs will tell you the city hit its own version of a jackpot last summer. "So there's no amount of money I can conceive of that would pay for that type of marketing for downtown Wetumpka," said Stubbs, who is the director for Main Street Wetumpka.

HGTV's 'Home Town Takeover' wraps up Wetumpka filming

WETUMPKA, Ala. (WSFA) - HGTV's new show "Home Town Takeover" has wrapped up production and filming has ended in downtown Wetumpka. While there are a few production crew members still in town, the majority, including the show's stars Ben and Erin Napier, have returned to their own hometown of Laurel, Mississippi.

Wetumpka shines, despite the dark clouds of 2019, 2020

Wetumpka saw some sunshine in 2020, and those rays of light are still shining, even as the city reflects on a 2019 tragedy - the literal dark clouds in the form of a tornado that caused widespread property damage on Jan. 19, 2019.
