Elba and Fort Payne named newest Main Street Alabama Communities

ECA is pleased to announce the cities of Elba and Fort Payne have been designated as Main Street Communities! Elba and Fort Payne join a long list of ECA member cities including Alexander City, Athens, Decatur, Dothan, Florence and Opelika all of which currently participate in Main Street Alabama. Elba and Fort Payne will begin work on revitalizing their downtown commercial cores utilizing Main Street’s organization, promotion, design and economic restructuring.

Main Street Alabama selects Elba for revitalization program

June 8th, 2015

Elba, along with Fort Payne and Jasper, joined a statewide effort to build stronger communities through effective downtown revitalization. Main Street Alabama officially announced Monday, June 1, that the three cities had been chosen to be designated Main Street Alabama communities. Main Street Alabama, a non-profit organization that uses a national model with a 30-year track record of success, selected the towns through a competitive application process.
