On Wednesday, that team spoke to realtors about the area and what it has to offer.

The evaluation team is also meeting with residents at 5 p.m. at the civic center to talk about what the area has to offer and can improve.

The team will compile all of this into a series of recommendations for the area.

"Friday, we'll have compiled some initial recommendations and have another presentation. Then in about six weeks, they'll get their full strategic plan that will carry them through the first three to five years of the program," Mary Helmer with Main Street Alabama said.

Main Street Alabama is a group focused on helping communities drive economic growth by capitalizing on local resources, residents and businesses.
