MAIN STREET ALABAMA ANNOUNCES 2025 NEW CITY APPLICATION WORKSHOPS

Jan 13th, 2025

Birmingham, Ala. (Dec. 17, 2024) — Main Street Alabama has announced the dates for its 2025 New City Application Workshops, which will be held in Birmingham, Florence and Eufaula in January.

New City Application Workshops explain the criteria and process for applying to become a Main Street Alabama Designated Community and describe the assistance the organization offers to position downtown revitalization programs for success by implementing the nationally recognized Main Street Four-Point Approach® for downtown and neighborhood commercial district revitalization. A unique economic development tool, the Main Street Four-Point Approach® is the foundation for local initiatives to revitalize their districts by leveraging their unique assets, from cultural or architectural heritage to local enterprises and community pride.

The Designation program is a significant milestone for communities aiming to revitalize their core districts and foster economic growth. Main Street Alabama’s rigorous selection process ensures that designated communities access expert guidance, resources, and tools with a proven track record of success.

Applications will only be available to those communities represented at a workshop. While there is no fee to attend, registration is required and can be found on the Main Street Alabama website at mainstreetalabama.org.

The Birmingham session is scheduled for January 14 at 880 Montclair Road. The Florence workshop will take place at The Stricklin Hotel on January 21. The third session will be held at the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce on January 28. All sessions are expected to last from 1 to 4 p.m.
